We’ve been looking for a river lot in Winnipeg on which to build a modern house for 9 months—ideally either empty land or a low-priced teardown. Both are in short supply.
When we saw the back yard of this home in the leafy, established neighbourhood of Wolseley, we decided to try our hands at a modern reno instead.
Built in 1912, the house is currently 2584 sq feet and sits on a 40’ x 220’ maturely-treed lot on the Assiniboine River. It was a one-family-two-generations duplex before sale.
Let’s see if we can create something modern out of this century-old home.
